Phoenix Regional Invitational Tournament 03.13.09
The following shall govern the 2009 Phoenix Regional Invitational Tournament:

1. The Phoenix Regional Invitational Tournament will be a mixed handicap competition open to men and women by invitation
2. This tournament will be a USBC sanctioned event and will be held in accordance with USBC rules and regulations.
3. All entrants are required to hold current 2008/2009 USBC membership cards (Rule 300c). Participants who are not members of USBC can qualify for an entry by paying a participation fee of $8.00 (USBC-Rule 300c2). Sanction cards must be presented at check in.
4. The following rules shall be used to determine the entering average:
5. The 2007/2008 USBC Book or IGBO Tournament Average Database (TAD) average (21-game minimum) as of 2/14/2009, whichever is higher. If none, the highest league average as of 12/31/08. If none, then highest 2008 summer average (21-game minimum) If none, then entering average shall be 225
6. The above averages must be verified by use of: A photocopy of the average from the USBC average book, and; A photocopy of the 12/31/08 standing sheet from each league bowled
7. The tournament director reserves the right to adjust a bowler’s average if just cause is presented.
8. Failure to provide proper documentation of the correct average shall disqualify tournament scores if submitted average is lower than the actual average.
9. Entries without proper average verification will be considered incomplete and not considered a tournament entry and will not be accepted.
10. Bowlers’ handicap shall be 90% of the difference between 225 and the bowler average. Negative handicaps will not apply.
11. Late bowlers will start in the frame in which they are ready with all prior frames being scored as zero (0).
12. Bowlers are permitted to bowl only once in each squad event.
13. Teams and doubles may consist of any combination of men and/or women. Teams shall consist of four bowlers.
14. Substitutes may be used with the tournament director’s approval.
15. No entry will be accepted without full payment. Checks and/or money orders should be made payable to PRIT (Phoenix Regional invitational Tournament). No personal checks will be accepted after 2/14/2009. All prize fees collected in an event will be returned 100% and will be paid on a 1:8 ratio for the participants in that event.
16. Entry fees will be broken down as follows: Banquet: $20.00 Trophies: $0.00 Expenses: $0.00 IGBO Fee: $0.50 Prize Fund: $43.00 Total : $90.00
17. Check in time for each event will be 30 minutes prior to the start of each squad.
18. Singles will be a separate event for men and women and will guarantee equal prize money paid to the first three places. Additional prizes will be paid on a 1:8 ratio for entries in each event. Team and doubles will be paid on a 1:8 ratio.
19. Check in time for each event will be 30 minutes prior to the start of each squad.
20. The tournament director will resolve any issues that may arise which are not clearly covered in these rules. All complaints of error must be made in writing to the tournament director not more than one hour after the completion of the scheduled event.
21. All bowlers will be given 10 minutes of practice before each squad.

Optional Scratch Masters
The Optional Scratch Masters competition is open to PRIT 2009 bowlers only

The nine (9) game scratch total from the handicap tournament is used to determine the eight qualifiers and one (1) alternate for the Round Robin (match game) competition. If a TIE exists for 8th place, there will be a one-game roll-off to determine the qualifier.
The eight (8) qualifiers bowl one (1) match game against each of the other seven (7) qualifiers, and a final position match. The winner of each match receives 30 bonus pins added to their score, the loser gets zero (0). In case of a tie, 15 bonus pins are added to each bowler’s score.
A lane schedule will be posted before the squad begins. This lists what lane each bowler is to bowl on for each of the seven (7) matches. The final match is determined by position. The leader draws for the first lane. All other positions line up to the right of the leader’s lane.
The highest four (4) bowlers from the match game competition advance to the finals, with #4 vs. #3, the winner of that match bowls #2, etc. There are no bonus pins awarded, and no carry over from the match game competition. If a TIE exists during any game of the final stepladder competition, a 9th and 10th frame roll-off determines which bowler advances.
Bowlers must check in fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled match game competition at 8:30 am on Sunday, March 16, 2008.
If a bowler has not checked in by the scheduled time, the alternate bowls. The unavailable bowler is disqualified and forfeits his/her entry fee into Scratch Masters. The alternate assumes the #8 (or lowest) position and the others advance accordingly.
Bowlers are allowed 10 minutes practice before the first match and 2 balls on each lane before the start of each stepladder match. No other practice is allowed.

You can register alone, with your doubles partner or your team.

You must have a COMPLETE entry before the PRIT mailing address is displayed (If you can’t find the mailing address you are missing required information on your registration form).
    What you need before you begin:
  • First, make sure you and your teammates each read and understand the established PRIT Rules & Regulations.
  • You MUST collect all the following bowler information for EACH team member you are registering:
  • Full Names and Addresses for team member registering
  • Phone Numbers and Birth-dates (required for average verification)
  • Bowler USBC ID’s and High League Book Averages for 2007-2008 season (You can locate your average info at bowl.com)
  • High League Averages for the current season as of 12/31/08, & 2008 Summer avg or highest 21 game current avg
  • Bowler Optional Event: Banquet Choice (chicken or beef), Golf, Scratch Masters, Best 3 of 6, Scotch Doubles, Optional Scratch
  • E-mail Addresses
  • Team Captain, if you do not have a complete team, please indicate at least one bowler as captain (for registration purposes only) If you are a single bowler registering, indicate you are a captain (for now)
  • Team Name, you can change it later but for registration purposes we need a name to tie team members together
  • Golf Partner Name (if golfing)
